Spring Break Weekend April 8-10, 2011

Happy Spring Break! If you haven't been able to spend time with the kids during the week, I hope you have a family fun weekend planned! I want to thank everyone that is now following us on Facebook. Our goal is to have 25 new friends by the end of April, so please help to spread the word about San Diego Daddies of Preschoolers.

Earlier this week, we shared with you a week full of fun things to do around town during Spring Break. Many of those events are also going on this weekend, so be sure to check those out. In addition, here are a few more things that you might find fun for this weekend.

SATURDAY 4.9.2011

KidToon Films - Ultra Star Cinemas presents G-RATED FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT EVERY SATURDAY & SUNDAY at 10:30 am! Admission only $2.50! This months movie is "Strawberry Shortcake Sky's The Limit". In addition to this months KidToon Film, Ultra Star will also be showing "The Wiggles: Greatest Hits in the Round" movie on April 9, 10, 16 and 17. Tickets for this movie are $6 for kids and $10 for adults. Here is a list of Ultra Star theaters that will be showing these movies:

Minnie’s Masquerade Viewing Party (1230pm) - Fashion Valley Disney Store : Come dressed in your favorite costume and join them for: An exclusive viewing party of Minnie’s Masquerade before it airs on Disney Junior; A special craft activity – make your own royal crown; A fun costume parade where everyone wins a prize!

Ladies Day in Old Town (noon-5pm) - A celebration of the women of San Diego during the 1800's. Watch the living history demonstrations, make historic crafts, and even try your skills and hand-cranking your very own ice cream. This event is FREE and takes place at the Old Town State Historic Park in San Diego.

Encinitas Street Fair (9am-5pm) - South Coast Hwy 101 between D and J Streets: Take advantage of free family fun, entertainment, a National Award Winning MainStreet and a traditional So-Cal beach town. Come for the sun, stay for the moonlight. 450 unique food, arts and crafts vendors, five live music stages AND children’s rides.



SUNDAY 04.10.2011

Kids Day at PetcoPark Padres vs. Dodgers Game : As a Junior Padres member, you receive exclusive access to Junior Padres Sunday Signings. Prior to each Sunday home game, one (1) or two (2) players will sign autographs near the Bleachers at the Park at the Park. Signings will begin approximately ninety-five (95) minutes prior to game time and last approximately thirty (30) minutes (times are subject to change without notice). Junior Padres membership is FREE

Breakfast at the Park (10am-12pm): Enjoy Breakfast at the Park before every Padres Sunday home game. Hours before the game begins, fans are invited to dine at Park at the Park, or at tables set up on the outfield warning track and near home plate*. A special Breakfast at the Park menu is available for purchase along K Street inside Park at the Park. Players and coaches often make appearances and greet fans as they eat.
Gates open to all fans at 10:30, with field dining* available on a first-come, first-served basis. A game ticket is required for admittance to the ballpark and to participate in Breakfast at the Park.

The Breakfast at the Park Menu includes:
  • The breakfast bowl - a Southwest egg scramble, complete with buttermilk biscuit croutons, crumbled maple sausage and country sausage gravy, all topped with fresh chives.
  • Bistro baguette - egg breakfast sandwich with choice of meat and cheese.
  • Seared Blueberry muffin - large muffin made with fresh blueberries, dipped in seared butter and topped with maple syrup, soaked walnuts and fresh whipped cream.
  • A selection of cinnamon rolls and fresh pastries
  • Fresh fruit
  • Specialty beverages include freshly squeezed orange juice, just-brewed coffee, mimosas and a special mix Bloody Mary.

**Daddy Challenge: Let your son or daughter pick their most favorite move and sit and enjoy the entire movie with them. Put the cell phone away, put all the work you brought home and just enjoy the time.
