Now on to this weeks family fun!

FRIDAY 3.18.11

LegoLand Star War Mural - March 31st, Legoland will open a new land to the current Mini-land USA, however this new land is out of this galaxy. Yes...I'm talking about Star Wars Land set to open sometime this spring. As part of the new land opening, Legoland and their master builders are creating a giant 7 foot lego mural. Starting Friday March 18 guest can participate in building the mural by completing a lego tile that will then be placed on the mural. The mural is estimated to take about 4 to 5 days to complete depending on how many people visit the park these next few days. If you visited the Disney D23 Expo back in 2009, you might remember that a similar mural was done for that event as well. To the below are pictures of the D23 Expo mural to give you an idea of what's in store.

Speaking of D23 Expo...The 2011 D23 Expo is coming up in August. Next week I will share much more about this event.

Friendship

But if we have learned anything about the Japanese people as we've watch the news these last few days, it is that they are very strong nation, and our hearts and prayers go out to all whom are effected by these events.

This weekend the Japanese Friendship Garden will celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival from 10am-4pm. There will be entertainment, exhibitions, Japanese food, demonstrations and the Little Miss Sakura pageant. The festival is free with Garden admission ($4 for adults, $3 seniors, military & students - children under 17 are FREE with paid adult).
